Lop rabbits are extraordinarily delightful, of that there is no doubt. They make great pets and can
develop into a cherished member of the family if they are properly cared for. If you are planning to raise mini rabbits, lop bunny rabbits are a terrific choice. Almost anyone would concur that this breed of bunny is not necessarily the easiest to successfully raise. However, with the proper knowledge you will usually be able to raise a healthy and thriving mini rabbit that will give you much affection.

An important consideration when successfully raising mini rabbits is what you will feed them. The majority of the time mini lop bunny rabbits will do very well on either timothy hay or grass hay. To keep them contented you can also complement their meals with a little bit of tasty dehydrated fruits and various nuts. They will love snacking on these and it can help balance their diet. Mixes made from these foods can be purchased at just about any store that sells pet supplies, but it's imperative to buy a well-known major brand. Rabbit mixes are not all alike and some are better than others.

When giving fresh vegetables and fruits to your pet rabbit you should do so in moderation. These should be considered "every so often" treats and not a major part of their nourishment. Consuming too much fresh fruits and vegetables can result in diarrhea. Water is another important item and should be accessible to them 24 hours a day.

Refuge is another important factor for maintaining top health. A cage or rabbit hutch needs to be provided for your mini rabbits and placed where it is quiet and peaceful. Pet rabbits frighten easily and must be kept in a peaceful location. Furthermore, it's ideal to make available to them a large open area where they can happily hop around when desired. These are undersized creatures, but require as much spare space as you are able to give them.

These creatures are very small, but they usually need more space than larger bunny rabbits which are most often more sedentary. Any spare room will be much appreciated. If you feel brave you can do what many owners do and allow them to scurry around the house wherever they want. Bunny rabbits can also be fully potty trained so it is not necessary to be concerned about accidents. If you choose to let them loose in your home it's generally a good idea to keep a close eye on them. They will gnaw on furniture or electrical cords if provided the chance so don't ever let them out of your sight.

Each pet rabbit has their very own unique personality characteristics. Once you have owned them for awhile you will learn to enjoy each individual creature for their differences. Mini lop bunny rabbits can be a bit backward with regard to social skills, but it is fun to watch them because of their little quirks and idiosyncrasies.

Nearly all mini rabbits like to be petted, but don't necessarily like it when you pick them up. Nevertheless, quite a few will enjoy all the affection you can show them and will often leap on your lap for a little extra cuddling. After they get used to you they can become very lovable in their own way. Each type will have their own unique individual traits, so do the right amount of groundwork to discover what type of lop bunny rabbit will be the best for your situation.
